Meetup for BlackBerry 4.2.8 and 4.2.9

I ended up releasing two quick fixes for different bugs. The firs release, 4.2.8, was to fix a simple issue with authentication to the Meetup.com website for the application. A while ago, Meetup changed their API to use a different method for making calls. With this update, they changed the URLs for the calls, which actually made things easier. I had gone through and updated all the URLs for my app at some point and basically forgot about it. I’m guessing that those old URLs were finally deprecated and that shut off the application authentication call that I was pointing Continue reading Meetup for BlackBerry 4.2.8 and 4.2.9

Meetup for BlackBerry 4.2.7

Meetup for BlackBerry 10 by DeanLogic version 4.2.7 is now available for download. As with the 4.2.6 release, this release is meant to give the user the Leave Group option for a Meetup group. This doesn’t give the user the option of telling the Organizer why you are leaving the group, but I will put that in later. There also isn’t a warning to keep your from leaving a group by accident either.  So, use with caution, because you have to use the site to Join a Group.  As stated  before, the Join Group steps are different based on the group Continue reading Meetup for BlackBerry 4.2.7

Text to Speech (TTS) integration via Read Out! (TTS) on BlackBerry 10

Sometimes you like to listen to stuff instead of reading it yourself. In some situations this can became very handy. It’s the same for users of your app(s) as well. For that reason it could be a good fit to integrate a working text to speech (TTS) solution to your apps. Read Out! (TTS) is probably one of the most popular and complete TTS apps available for BlackBerry 10. I’ve developed the app by myself back in July 2015 and since then provided some updates. As I started the development of Read Out! (TTS), it wasn’t even been meant to Continue reading Text to Speech (TTS) integration via Read Out! (TTS) on BlackBerry 10

Meetup for BlackBerry 10 release 1.2.0

I have done a minor/mid release (1.2.0 / 4.2.0) for the Meetup app. I updated the build OS to 10.2. I figured at this point, everyone should have updated their device to 10.2.1. Another push for updating to 10.2, is that BlackBerry has already announced 10.3 and provided beta simulators, so that developers could get started updating their apps or building new apps with the new features. I don’t plan on pushing out a 10.3 version until I feel that the majority of my users have upgrade. One of the reasons I wanted to go to 10.2 is the addition Continue reading Meetup for BlackBerry 10 release 1.2.0
