Making the case for video previews in BBW

First off I want to say there’s a lot to love about BlackBerry World (BBW), however there are some key areas that could be given a little love. One of those is the video preview, from the the perspective of a consumer and a developer, they’re a must and this post’s aim is to show why.

For one, videos would save a lot of the consumers time, as with just a few seconds they would be able to visually judge whether or not this was the app they wanted, because even if it is a free app, similarly judge this, a user would have to download the app and actually use it, which takes a lot more time than just viewing a small video clip.

This would also mean that the quality of apps in BBW would increase dramatically, becuase developers would have to work harder to ensure that their app descriptions matched the app itself, in a way the user needs it to such that on viewing a short videos they prove to users that this is the app for them.

On this note, developers would have more tools to show customers how awesome their apps are, especially in categories like games where motion is quite key to the app, a video would allow developers to show customers clearly how enticing they are, below I’ve put together some videos of one or two apps to show how a review (patent pending) would enhance the offering of the app, giving developers another medium to communicate and engage their customers!
